PowerPoint 2010 includes a number of features and extras that help you make an attention-grabbing, informative and professional-looking presentation. If you have Internet access while presenting your slide show, you can include updated information from the Web as well. By installing a third-party add-in to PowerPoint you can insert real-time information that pertains to your presentation such as current weather alerts and forecasts.
Install LiveWeb
1.Go to the OfficeTips homepage (see link in Resources) and click on the 'LiveWeb' link under Free Add-ins. Click on the 'PowerPoint 2007/2010 (32bit/64-bit) users' ZIP file link. Select 'Open With Windows Explorer' and click 'OK.' Double-click the 'LiveWeb.ppam' file to run the add-in.

Click the 'Enable Macros' button when PowerPoint opens if you are prompted to do so. The add-in is now active in PowerPoint. Open the presentation in which you want to include weather updates or create a new presentation.
3.Go to the slide where you want the weather information to appear during the presentation. To insert a new slide between existing slides, right-click the slide prior to where you want to insert the new one and click 'New Slide.'
4.Go to the 'Insert' tab and click on 'Web Page' in the LiveWeb group to start the LiveWeb Wizard. Click 'Next' to begin the wizard. Type in the complete URL of the weather update website you wish to add to the slide. For example, to use the National Weather Service web page, type in 'http://www.weather.gov' and click the 'Add' button. Click 'Next' to continue.

Select the 'Yes, Refresh Web Page Automatically (Real Time Update)' check box and click 'Next.' Choose the size and position you want the Web page to appear on the slide and click 'Next.' Click 'Finish' to add the weather updates to your slide.
Install ShowRoom
1.Go to the ShowRoom for PowerPoint website (see link in Resources) and click the 'Download ShowRoom' button. Click 'Save File' and click the 'Install Now' button. Accept the terms if you want to proceed and click 'Install.' Click 'Close' when the installation is complete.
2.Start PowerPoint. Open the presentation in which you want to include weather updates or create a new presentation.
3.Go to the slide where you want the weather information to appear during the presentation. To insert a new slide between existing slides, right-click the slide prior to where you want to insert the new one and click 'New Slide.'
4.Go to the 'ShowRoom' tab on the Ribbon. Click 'Internet Explorer' to open the Insert Internet Explorer Webpage dialog box.
5.Type in the complete URL of the weather update website you wish to add to the slide. For example, to use the National Weather Service Web page, type in 'http://www.weather.gov' and click the 'Open with IE' button. Click 'OK' to add the weather updates to your slide.
Install SlideDynamic
1.Go to the SlideDynamic for PowerPoint website (see link in Resources) and click the 'Download Now' button. Click on 'Save File' open the ZIP file file to start the installation.
2.Double-click the 'Setup.exe' file and click 'Run.' Click 'Next.' Accept the terms if you want to proceed and click 'Next' again. Click 'Install' and then click 'Finish.'
3.Start PowerPoint. Open the presentation in which you want to include weather updates or create a new presentation. Go to the slide where you want the weather information to appear during the presentation. To insert a new slide between existing slides, right-click the slide prior to where you want to insert the new one and click 'New Slide.'
4.Open your Web browser and navigate to the weather update website you wish to add to the slide. Save this page to your Favorites.
5.Go to the 'SlideDynamic' tab on the Ribbon. Click on 'Insert Web Asset' and click on the page you saved to your Favorites. Click the 'Select' button to add the live weather updates to your slide.
